Malaysia Student Visa 2026: EMGS Process, Documents & Timeline
The complete education visa roadmap — from offer letter to student pass endorsement, with realistic timelines and the documents that cause delays.
Step 1: Offer letter
Your visa journey begins with enrolment at a registered institution. Once registered, the institution submits your application to EMGS (Education Malaysia Global Services).
Documents checklist
Passport valid 18+ months, passport photos with white background, academic transcripts, offer letter, health declaration, and — depending on nationality — additional embassy requirements.
Timeline
EMGS approval typically takes 4–6 weeks. You then receive an eVAL (Visa Approval Letter), apply for a single-entry visa, and fly to Malaysia for medical screening and endorsement.
Common delays
Blurry passport scans, photos with coloured backgrounds and expired passports cause most rejections. Our visa team pre-checks every document — a big reason for our 98% approval rate.
After approval
Your student pass is issued for the course duration, renewable annually. ACE tracks your EMGS status in the student portal so you always know your stage.
