What a productive gap year needs

Three things: a real CV skill (B2 English with an ACE certificate), independence (living abroad safely), and stories (weekend trips to islands, highlands and heritage towns — plus Singapore and Bangkok next door).

Flexible durations

General English starts every Monday for any length from one month; Summer and Winter Camps (ages 17-18 welcome) run June–August and December–February from one to four weeks — no long commitment needed.

Budgeting the adventure

Course RM 1,250/month, hostel from RM 650/month, food RM 600/month — a full month of study + life in KL costs less than two weeks in many Western cities.
